ATHOL- Beverly J. (Fort) Maynard, 80, of Main Street and formerly of East Main Street in Orange, died early Thursday morning, December 10, 2020 at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Hospital on Belmont Street in Worcester.
Born in New York on September 4, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle Forte and she grew up there.
Beverly was married to Charles E. Maynard Sr. for over 50 years when he died on June 6, 2008.
A Certified Nursing Assistant, Beverly had worked at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol for a number of years. Her caring and generous nature made her the ideal babysitter in the family as well, a job she truly enjoyed.
An avid reader, Beverly also enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Chris Hagie, Stephanie Hagie and Jessica Hagie, all of Athol; a son in law, James Hagie of Athol; a daughter in law, Kathy Maynard of Athol; and a sister, Ella O’Donnell of Barre.
Besides her parents and husband, Beverly lost her children, Sandra L. Hagie on January 10, 2014, Charles E. Maynard Jr. on October 26, 2019, and Clay S. Maynard on April 19, 2020.
There are no calling hours.
Services and interment at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon will be private.
