ORANGE- Brian T. Dodge, 65, of East Main Street, died on Wednesday morning, January 29, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boston, surrounded by loved ones following a five week battle with serious infection.
Born in Greenfield on November 19, 1959, he was the son of the late Thomas and Charlene (Powling) Dodge, grew up in Orange and graduated from Ralph C. Mahar Regional in 1977.
On December 19, 1981, Brian married Cheryl (Dexter), enjoyed forty three years of marriage, and had three children.
Early in his career he drove truck both locally and cross country, and then transitioned later in life to crafting high end, custom fishing tackle which he sold all over New England, and became a master sharpener.
As a boy Brian spent his summers on the Maine coast which gave him his love of the sea. Brian was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending his free time in the woods or on the ocean with his Dad, Brother and Kids.
In recent years, Brian treasured watching his three grandchildren grow up and was a very proud Granpa.
Brian is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Dodge of Orange; his children, Samantha Rudd of Agawam, Chris Dodge and his wife Jenn of Canton, OH, and Brandon Dodge and his wife Kimberly of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren, Preston Rudd, Olivia Rudd and Hunter Dodge; a brother, Kevin Dodge and his wife Malane, of Orange; nephews Dillon Dodge and Logan Dodge; a niece, Skylar Dodge; mother in law, Agatha Dexter of Westminster; his former son in law Brian Rudd of Agawam; and many friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
There will be no formal services.
