Carole A. (Holmes) Lyman

ERVING- God called Carole Ann Holmes Lyman to her eternal home on March 26, 2025. She had been cared for by her loving family.

Mrs. Lyman was born in Lancaster, NH on October 11, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Althea and Raymond Holmes.

Carole married the love of her life, Walter Reginald Lyman, on October 25, 1958.

She was a member of the Erving Evangelical Church for over 70 years. Carole loved singing in the choir. She was involved in the Ladies Aide and served as a Deaconess and Trustee.

Mrs. Lyman was active in the community by serving on the Election Board, Historical Society and also involved in preparation for Memorial Celebration. Carole was always sending cards near and far.

Some of her favorite pastimes were watching her birds and explaining what kind they were. She also loved baking and teaching others.

Mrs. Lyman was a loving mother of 8 children; Dennis J. Lyman, Mt. Airy, NC, Candace (Candy) Lyman Gore of the home, Timothy (Timmy) W. Lyman (Debbie), Hertford, NC, Kim A. Lyman of the home, Scott R. Lyman (Scotty), Mt. Airy, NC, Dolores (Dolly) A. Lyman Wetherby (Rick), Hinsdale, NH, and Douglas (Dougie) A. Lyman, Winchester, NH; Sister to Jenny Sanderson, Lyman Holmes and Jed Holmes.  Survived by 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Proceeded in death by her husband Walter Reginald Lyman, son, Walter (Whitey) R. Lyman Jr., grandson, Walter R. Lyman III, and 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

A celebration of life will be held on May 24, 2025 at Erving Evangelical Church at 2 p.m. by Victor Miller and Miguel Cabrera.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Erving Evangelical Church, 4 East Main Street, Erving, MA 01344 in honor of Carole Lyman.
