ATHOL- The family of Chris Ann Rice (Desreuisseau) of Athol, MA, is saddened to announce her
passing on January 3, 2025, at the age of 57. Chris was born on June 27, 1967, in Athol, MA, to
Jacqueline (Musante) Desreuisseau and Leo Desreuisseau.
Chris graduated from Athol High School in 1985. She was married to Frank Rice for 37
dedicated years. Together, they raised a daughter, Marissa Rice. Marissa and her partner
Dakota Regienus welcomed a granddaughter, Evelyn Regienus.
Throughout her career, Chris worked at L. S. Starrett Co., N.D. Cass Co., and Walmart, where
she was dedicated to customer service and personal care in recent years.
Chris had a deep love for her family and found joy in cooking, especially baking cut-out trays of
Christmas cookies during the holidays. She also enjoyed crafting and watching vintage horror
movies.
However, her most lasting gift was her quick wit and sense of humor, which brought laughter to
all who knew and loved her.
Chris is survived by her husband Frank Rice; daughter Marissa Rice; brother, Gary
Desreuisseau; sisters Ellen Barnes and Lynette Chandler; sister-in-law Kim Rice; mother
Jacqueline Desreuisseau; mother-in-law Phyllis Rice; Uncle Dana Desreuisseau; her
granddaughter, Evelyn Regienus; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her father Leo Desreuisseau; and father-in-law Frank Rice Senior.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris’s memory.
A private ceremony and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
