ATHOL- Christopher Dean “Hook” Paul, 66, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026.
Born in Fitchburg, Christopher was known by many as “Hook”, a nickname that truly suited his larger-than-life personality. He was a jack of all trades and someone who could strike up a conversation with anyone. Funny, charismatic, sarcastic, and endlessly goofy, Chris was the life of the party and brought laughter wherever he went.
Chris loved spending time golfing, playing softball, running, watching old movies and television shows, and cheering on his favorite teams like the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and Ohio State. Above all else, his children and grandchildren were his favorite part of life.
He is survived by his son Jacob Paul and wife Desirae; son Samuel Paul; daughter Hannah Paul; sister Linda Ganson and husband Gordon Ganson; brother Ted Paul and wife Linda Paul; sister-in-law Stella Paul, grandchildren Tatum, Kobi, Mariella, and Ayden; many nieces and nephews as well as beloved friends.
Christopher was predeceased by his brother John Paul, mother Eileen Paul, and father Richard Paul.
A private burial will be held for the immediate family.
A celebration of Christopher’s life will take place at Ellinwood Country Club, 1928 Pleasant Street, Athol, on May 30, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mahar Boosters Club in Christopher’s memory, c/o Ralph C. Mahar Regional, P.O. Box 680, Orange, MA 01364.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
