ATHOL- Claire A. (Noel)(Goupil)(Shute) Allen, 86, of Pinedale Avenue,died peacefully early Thursday morning, April 11, 2024 at the Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester.

Born in Orange on November 7, 1937, she was the daughter of Charles E. Noel Sr. and Beatrice (Bushee) Noel and grew up in the Tully section of Orange and graduated from Orange High School in 1954.

Claire had been married to David Goupil, Ernest Shute and lastly, Dennis Allen.

Claire had worked at the Erving Paper Mill, Duall Plastics, as manager at Country Convenience, and at Van Pool. While living in California, Claire was an apartment complex manager.

Claire enjoyed traveling, especially beach trips with the girls to Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Her family was very important to her, and having them together was cherished. She loved feeding and watching the birds on her deck, and lunch at McDonald’s with friends provided more enjoyment. She loved playing Chinese checkers and other games with her family.

Claire is survived by her children, Dianne Blanchard and her husband Paul, and Karen Cramm, all of Athol, Steven Shute and his partner Mae of Waynesboro, TN, and her stepdaughter Kathy Shute of New Smyrna Beach, FL; grandchildren, Amy Crimlisk  and husband Stephen of Natick and Joshua Blanchard and wife McKenzie of Orange; great grandchildren, Aurora Crimlisk, Bailey Blanchard, Shelby Blanchard and Selene Crimlisk, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Claire was predeceased by her brother Charles Noel Jr., and survived by his wife Arlene Noel, and also her half sister Charlotte Noel Lindgren of Maryland.

There are no calling hours or services.

Internment in Tully Cemetery, Orange, will be private.
