ATHOL- Craig A. “Chippy” White, 50, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, January 9, 2023.
Born in Athol on July 11, 1972, he was the son of William and Barbara (Clement) White and grew up in Athol, graduating from Athol High School in 1990 and Mount Wachusett Community College with an Associate’s Degree in 1992.
Craig was employed by Whipps, Inc. as a machine operator for 10 years. He previously had worked for C&S Wholesalers and the L.S. Starrett Company.
Craig was a member of the Tully City Council Club, Inc., the Franco-American Club and the Athol American Legion.
A huge Boston sports fan, he especially loved the Bruins and the New England Patriots, as well as Michigan Football.
An avid fisherman, Craig also enjoyed hiking and playing softball.
Craig will be sadly missed by his mother, Barbara White of Athol; his brothers, William White and his wife, Heidi Landers, of Barre, and Kevin White and his wife, Christy, of Athol; many nephews and nieces as well as two grandnephews and one grandniece. He also leaves many friends he enjoyed being with.
Craig was predeceased by his father in 2018.
Calling hours will be held on January 19, 2023 from 4-6 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, followed by a brief prayer service at 6 p.m. with Deacon Bryan Lagimoniere officiating.
A graveside service will be held on January 20th at 11 a.m. in Silver Lake Cemetery, off Horrigan Avenue, Athol.
