ORANGE- Darrell G. Cleveland Sr., 66, of Camp Road, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 after being stricken ill.
Born in Greenfield on February 26, 1956, he was the son of Stanley and Charlotte (Flood) Cleveland and grew up in Orange.
Darrell had worked construction, including the development of Riverbend Woods in Athol, as well as working for the railroad and was always a hard worker.
He had been married to Karen (Prue).
Darrell enjoyed Lake Mattawa, whether swimming, boating or ice skating. He also enjoyed hiking and looking at scenery. Darrell also loved riding his motorcycle and taking his dog, “Hell Dog”, along with him.
Darrell is survived by his sons, Darrell Cleveland Jr. , and his wife Renee, of Athol and Shawn Cleveland and his partner Carla Diloreto, of Orange; his grandchildren, Justin, Karalyn (Chris), Kayla and Isaiah (Kayla L.); great grandchildren, Aiden, Elena, Kinsley, and Landon. Darrell also leaves many loved nephews and nieces as well as grandnephews and grandnieces.
Darrell was predeceased by his father Stanley on January 23, 2009, his mother Charlotte on October 31, 2015, and a brother Wayne Cleveland on August 12, 2017.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 4-6 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A celebration of life will follow at 6:30 p.m. at Lake Mattawa where family and friends are invited to share their memories.
