ATHOL- Denis A. Poulin passed away peacefully, holding his wife’s hand, just after midnight, in the early morning of Friday, December 27th, 2024. He was 77 years old.
Denis was born in 1947 in Worcester, where he was raised, though he spent many a day in Spencer, where the family had their summer camp. There he met his lovely bride, Diana (LaChapelle) Poulin, who survived him. They would have been married 60 years in May.
Denis is predeceased by his parents, Clem Poulin & Isabelle Allen, and his brothers, Bernie, Ernie and Norman Poulin.
He is survived by his brothers Len, Gerry, and Marc Poulin and sister Jacquie as well as his son, Ernie Poulin and daughters, Jessica, Kathy and Elisha Poulin. He is also survived by his five grand daughters, Peri, Hannah, Chantal, Tilly, & Kara and a great-grandson, Tavi.
Denis was hired on as a rural mail carrier in Berlin, Mass. after high school. He worked for the US Postal Service for 30 years, never leaving that post. Denis had to use his private vehicle to deliver mail all those years, so he had installed a second gas pedal, brake and steering wheel in his SUVs. It is also possible one or more of his kids MAY have learned a little bit of driving on these extra controls. What a treat! Thanks dad!
The immediate family is only planning a close private get together at this time. No viewing or other service is currently scheduled. Please be happy for our dad that he's no longer suffering, as his heart was weak, and he was having other physical struggles, lately, that made life difficult. He is where he wishes to be and has strong beliefs that he has been swept up to the heavens.
No flowers, tree planting or donations are needed, just your kind well wishes. Family contact is: Ernie Poulin, PO Box 8212, GVL, CA 92341.
We ask that you do please give our family some peace and privacy, for now and thank you, in advance, for your kindness.
Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, is assisting the family.
