ORANGE- Dennis C. Hallett, 70, of Coombs Avenue, died on Sunday afternoon, December 1, 2024 at home surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Athol on July 27, 1954, he was the son of the late Gerald S. “Jake” and Evelyn (Emerson) Hallett and spent most of his life in Orange. He graduated from Ralph C. Mahar Regional in 1972.
On May 29, 1993, Dennis married Elizabeth M. “Betsey” (Kingsbury) and they have enjoyed their 31 years of marriage. He always told Betsey he won the lottery when he met her and her reply was I won the lottery meeting you.
Employed by the L. S. Starrett Co. in Athol for many years as a precision grinder, Dennis retired in 2018. He had previously worked several years at the Orange Foundry.
A active member of the Orange United Methodist Church, Dennis served on many committees, worked a lot of fairs and cooked for many of the suppers. He also helped with the yard work.
Dennis was an avid photographer as well an exceptional gardener and fisherman. Dennis also loved to cook and was very proud of his Scottish heritage.
Dennis leaves his loving wife, Elizabeth Hallett of Orange; a brother Douglas Hallett and wife Charlene of Orange; a sister Kathy Arsenault and husband Robert of Orange; and several nephews and nieces.
Besides his parents, Dennis was predeceased by a step son, Nicholas Kingsbury on July 13, 2021.
A calling hour will be held on December 12, 2024 from 10-11 a.m. at the Orange United Methodist Church, 104 South Main Street, Orange.
A funeral service will follow in the church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Judy Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
