ORANGE- Donald K. Vescovi, 83, of Walnut Hill, died peacefully at home on Sunday morning, December 1, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Orange on January 2, 1941, he was the son of the late Paride and Annabelle (Desrosiers) Vescovi and grew up in Orange, graduating from Ralph C. Mahar Regional in 1961.
On May 31, 1969, Donald married Janice (Dalton) and have enjoyed 55 years raising their family together.
Employed by the Erving Paper Mill for over 30 years, Donald had worked as a trucker and in the shipping department before retiring.
An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was an avid car enthusiast and had belonged to the Carb’s Club and Shifters.
Survivors include his loving wife, Janice Vescovi of Orange; children, Craig Vescovi of Orange, Marla Haydocy and her husband Tim of New Salem, and Derek Vescovi and his wife Keri-Jo of Orange; a grandson, Kaden Vescovi of Orange; granddaughters, Carley Patria (Drew) of New Salem and Chelsy Landry (Clayton) of Rutland; a great granddaughter, Oaklynn Gene Landry of Rutland; a brother David Vescovi of Orange; and many nephews and nieces. He also leaves a brother in law Byron Dalton (Ruth) of Lancaster, and sisters in law Shirley Carter (Jerry) of Georgia and Marsha Lowell (Richard) of New Hampshire.
Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by brothers, Russell, Raymond and Paul, as well as a sister Virginia Dupuis.
Calling hours will be on December 20, 2024 from 9-11 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Fr. Mark Glover of St. Mary’s Church of Orange officiating.
Interment will be in South Cemetery, Orange.
Following the interment service, a celebration of life will be held at the Orange American Legion, 40 Daniel Shays Highway, Orange, at 12 noon.
