ORANGE- Donna L. (Sturtevant) Cole, 80 , of Tully Road, died on Wednesday evening, June 4, 2025 at Boston Medical Center Brighton with family at her side.
Born in Gardner on February 28, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Merritt and Jessie (Richardson) (Sturtevant) Keyes and grew up in the Athol- Orange area, graduating from Ralph C. Mahar Regional School in 1963.
On March 20, 1964, she married Roger C. Cole and enjoyed over 42 years of marriage until his death on July 7, 2006.
Donna worked for Fireburst for over 30 years, retiring in 2008. She was also co-owner with her husband of D&R Fire Extinguisher Service.
She was a Cub Scout leader for several years, a member of the former Tully Fire Auxiliary and a member of the Orange Historical Society. She tried her hardest to be a good mother, and she was!
Donna is survived by her sons, Jeffrey G. Cole and his partner, Tom Smith, of Orange, George S. Cole and his wife, Kim, of Leominster and Jonathan Cole and his wife, Sharon, of Orange; her loving sister, Carole A. Gullage of Orange; grandchildren, Aliya Cole (Mike Grispo) of Cape Coral, FL, Erica Tibbetts (Jordan) of Derby, KS, and Emily Rose Berglind (Ariana) of Somerville; great grandchildren, Evie Tibbetts and Bernie Tibbetts of Derby, KS; brother in law, Calvin B. Cole and his wife, Bonnie, of Needham; a nephew, Adam J. Cole and his wife, Rachel, of Needham; and great nephews, Nathaniel Cole and Joshua Cole, both of Needham; along with many cousins.
Besides her parents and husband, Donna was predeceased by her perfect brother, C. Dean Sturtevant on September 2, 2015.
Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on June 11, 2025, at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on June 12, 2025, at Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange.
Interment will follow in Tully Cemetery, Orange.
