ATHOL- Eleanor M. Curtis, 62, of Harvard Avenue, died Thursday morning, October 24, 2024 at Heywood Hospital in Gardner following an illness.
Born in Boston on June 30, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (O’Malley) Curtis and grew up in the Boston area and a resident of the Athol- Orange area the past 25 years.
Eleanor was a much loved driver for the Montachusett Regional Transit Authority (MART) and made friends with her passengers.
She enjoyed drawing and coloring, her cats and had played in dart leagues in the past.
Eleanor is survived by her sons, Gerard Curtis of Athol and Dennis DiCato Jr. of Everett; five grandchildren; brothers, Daniel Curtis of Brockton and James Curtis of Everett; sisters, Kelly Spangler of Salem and Cathy Langone of Saugus; several nephews and nieces; her aunt Catherine Curtis and her sons of California; and her companion, Kary Chaisson of Athol.
Calling hours will be held on November 9, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
Private interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
