ATHOL- Frederick "Skeeter" Elliott III headed out on his final haul after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Skeeter was born a true force of nature on October 26, 1963, to Harriett (Powell) and Frederick Elliott, Jr.
He considered himself a true "Tully Cajun", who lived life on his own terms with a roar and a grin. Skeeter, known for his larger-than-life personality, never met a stranger and embraced every single moment of life with the intensity of a nail-biting NASCAR race. His love for Harleys, the thrill of trucking across America, and his years serving in the U.S. Army, where he relished his adventures in California, Alaska & Germany, defined him as a man born to be wild.
From the hum of his beloved Harley to the roar of the racetrack, Skeeter's passions were as boundless as his heart. He could maneuver anything on wheels with the skill of a legend, leaving his mark on every road he traveled and in the hearts of everyone he met. His time at E.W. Sykes and Bardsley Trucking was marked by camaraderie and respect—‘the boys’ there were his second family, a bond he always cherished deeply.
Skeeter is survived by his wife, caregiver and love of his life, Liz Elliott, and her children Joe, Katie, and Angel; his daughter, Katie Elliott of Greenfield; his sisters Lisa J. Elliott (partner Phil Harris) and Kim Picard (husband Bob) of NH; Terry Labonte (husband Richard), Sally Elliott; his brothers Bernie Coffin (wife Mary) of TN, Kenny Coffin (wife Jen) of NC, "Mumsie" Diana Elliott of Orange; Aunts Brenda, Nadine, Beverly, and Uncle Bill, all of NH; a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong best friends, the Adams brothers Joey and Randy.
In true Skeeter fashion, there will be no formal services and burial will be private. Instead, his memory will ride on in the hearts of those who knew him, in every roar of a Harley, every NASCAR race, and every trucker’s road. Skeeter’s spirit will forever be a reminder to live loudly, love fiercely, and never forget to enjoy the ride.
