ORANGE- Gene F. Cloutier Sr., 66, of Roche Avenue, died peacefully at home on Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2024 following an illness, with family at his side.
Born in Winchendon on January 18, 1958, he was the son of Wilfred and Virginia (Harris) Cloutier and grew up in South Royalston, graduating from Athol High School in the class of 1976.
Gene married Beth (Peterson) in 1978 and they have enjoyed 45 years of marriage and raising a family.
Gene had worked for his father at Boy’s Donuts in Athol, the L. S. Starrett Company and Wayne Roy and had been a general laborer most of his career.
Gene loved his family immensely and enjoyed taking care of them.
Survivors include his loving wife, Beth Cloutier of Orange; a daughter, Nicole Hanks and her husband, Lucas, of South Deerfield; a son, Gene Cloutier Jr. and his fiancé, Alysia Morrissette, of Athol; two grandchildren, Noah Hanks and Sadie Hanks. He also leaves behind a brother, John Cloutier and his wife, Terry, of Summerfield, FL; sisters, Christine Taylor of Waxhaw, NC, Suzanne Strong and her husband, Kent, of Athol, and Sandra Allard and her husband, Edward, of Lisbon, ME; and several nephews and nieces.
Gene was predeceased by his father in 2020, his mother in 2022, and a brother, Robert Cloutier, in 2021.
There are no calling hours.
A celebration of life will be held at Mike's Place, 81 East River Street, Orange, on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 2-5 p.m.
