Gloria A. (Berry) Brown

ORANGE- Gloria A. (Berry) Brown, 78, of Red Brook Lane, died early Saturday morning, July 16, 2022 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Lyndon, Vermont on May 1, 1944, she was the daughter of Maynard and Arlene (Jessman) Berry and grew up in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, later moving to Athol-Orange area as a teen and graduated from Athol High School in 1962.

On June 29, 1963, Gloria married Gerald R. “Jerry” Brown and enjoyed 54 years of marriage until his death on May 10, 2018.

Gloria had worked at the J.F. MacElwain Shoe Shop as well as the Erving Paper Mill.

Devoted to her family, Gloria enjoyed being around everyone. She loved reading, doing crossword puzzles and knitting.

The family would like to express their thanks to both Care Central VNA & Hospice (GVNA) as well as Quabbin Valley Healthcare for their excellent care and concern for Gloria the past couple years.

Gloria is survived by her children, Ruth Ann Hause of Orange, Richard Brown (Christine) of North Carolina, Ronda Brown (Curtis) of Orange and Randy Brown (Mary) of Athol; grandchildren, Jennifer, Richard Jr., Samantha, Sabrina, Brandon, Maria, Christopher and Cindy; and two great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Sandra Savage of Erving, and Dale Berry (Evelyn) of Winchester, NH; and several nephews and nieces; along with two very close friends among many friends.

Gloria was predeceased by her parents, husband, and siblings, Linda Hobbs, Janet Rustausky, Priscilla Legrand Barbara Lewis, Roland Berry, Ernest Berry, Russell Berry and Ralph Berry.

There are no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held on August 20, 2022 at 10:30 a.m., in the West Orange Cemetery, West Orange Road, Orange.
