Gloria N. (Dresser) Desreuisseau

GARDNER - Gloria N. Desreuisseau (Dresser), beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the age of 91. Gloria was born on June 27, 1933, in Orange, MA. She was the daughter of the late Gerald and Doris Dresser (Moore). Gloria was married to Gordon Desreuisseau who predeceased her on May 6, 1986. Together, they had four children.

Gloria is survived by her loving family, including her brother Gerry Dresser of Sutton, MA. and his wife Edna; her children: Linda Ball (Desreuisseau) of Erving, MA. and her husband Keith Ball, Brenda Black (Desreuisseau) of South Athol, MA. and her husband Stu Black, Debbie Zwicker (Desreuisseau) of Athol, MA., and Jeffrey Desreuisseau of Vernon, CT.. Gloria is also survived by her five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Gloria’s sister Virginia predeceased her in 2007.

Gloria was an active member of the community. Most prominently she worked at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol for many years. She also spent years working at Meals on Wheels for the Athol Senior Center, helping to feed seniors less fortunate than her. Gloria was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Church in Orange, where she was also a member of the St. Mary’s Women’s Club. In her free time, she was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She also enjoyed walking, socializing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In her later years, Gloria lived at Heywood Commons in Gardner. She enjoyed the numerous community events and would go out of her way to include everyone, often approaching those who were alone to ask them to join in on the fun.

Gloria passed away surrounded by her family at Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Calling hours will be Monday, April 14, 2025, from 5-7 pm at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, 19 Congress Street, Orange, with Fr. Mark Glover officiating.

Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
