ORANGE- James H. Lovewell Jr., 62, of King Pines, East River Street, died late Monday evening, August 30, 2021 at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center Campus in Worcester.
Born in Gardner on July 1, 1959, he was the son of James H. Lovewell Sr. and Irma (Shane) Lovewell and grew up in Ashburnham, graduating from Oakmont Regional High School in Ashburnham with the class of 1977.
On July 19, 1977, James enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on June 20, 1983.
He married Phyllis (Nutter) in 2003 and they have enjoyed over 17 years of marriage. He was previously married to Paula (Goodwin).
James had worked for Ameristar Fencing, MBW and South Main Street Auto.
He cherished time with his family and his beloved dog, “Sophie”.
James loved NASCAR, flying drones with grandson Deavin, camping, and was very knowledgeable about automotive mechanics, which he truly loved.
James had been a member of the Orange American Legion as well as the Wheelerville Community Club.
James is survived by his wife, Phyllis Lovewell of Orange; his children, Keith Truehart Jr. (June) of Athol, James Lovewell III (Laurie) and Chris Lovewell (Allison), all of Gardner, Kia Leger (Ryan) of Athol, Lynn Marie Lovewell (Chris Savage)of Gardner and Kari McGivern (Steven) of Athol. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Cameron Truehart (Courtney Harty), Samantha Lovewell, Aiden Truehart, Deavin McGivern, Kasey Lovewell, Joshua Lovewell, Mackenzy Leger, Lyllie McGivern, Gregory Lovewell, Jayden Savage, Addison Leger, Makinna Truehart, Kallie McGivern and Paisley Leger; a great grandson, Connor Harty; sisters, Eleanor “Ellie” Rhodes of Bowling Green, KY, Carol Lovewell of Athol, and Nancy Hamilia (Tom) of Ashburnham; a brother, John Lovewell of Ashburnham; sisters in law,Mary-Helen Nutter-Truehart (Darlene),Gloria Nutter, Roland Nutter Jr.(Debbie) and Barbara Theriault; brothers in law Michael Nutter (ChanReth), Brenda Paoella (Tom) and Dean Nutter (Darlene); and several nephews and nieces.
James was predeceased by his parents.

A celebration of life will be held on September 12, 2021 from 12 noon until 5 p.m. at the Tully City Council Club., Inc., 365 Tully Road, Orange.
