Janet R. (Day) Bartlett

ORANGE- Janet R. (Day) Bartlett, 92, died Monday evening, May 5, 2025, at Athol Hospital, just three days before her 93rd birthday.

Born in Athol on May 8, 1932, she was the daughter of Herbert W. and Eva M. (Beauchemin) Day.

Janet was married to Harold J. Bartlett Jr. for 58 years until his death on September 3, 2008.

Employed by the L. S. Starrett Co. for a number of years, Janet had also worked for Wal-Mart.

Besides enjoying time with her family, Janet was an avid reader.

Survivors include her children, Sylvia Hamilton and Danny Bartlett of New Hampshire, Gary Bartlett of Athol, Clifford Bartlett of Orange and Steven Bartlett of Athol; many grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild with another on the way; and sisters, Joanne of California and Joyce  of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Janet had made her arrangements in advance and did not want any calling hours or services and will be buried in the Northwest Cemetery on Flat Rock Road in Petersham.

Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, is directing the arrangements.
