ATHOL- Jean Angelina (Delmolino) Ryder, (94) of Athol, Massachusetts passed away peacefully, on September 20, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones.
Jean was born to Alfred and Jennie (Casali) Delmolino on March 21, 1930 in Romeo, Michigan.
Jean was married to Robert (Bob) Ryder in 1950. They spent 43 years together before his death in 1993.
Jean is survived by sons Fred Ryder and Robert Ryder, daughter Robin LaCroix. Granddaughters Carrie Ryder, Lindsay LaBrie and her husband Dave LaBrie, Kelly Ryder and her fiance Bryant Powlowski, Courtney Ryder, Jenna LaCroix, Rhonda Jobst and her husband Dane Jobst. Grandsons Jesse LaCroix, Coady LaCroix and his fiance Sarah Flower. Great Granddaughters Makayla Waxlax, Maddison LaBrie, Skyleigh and Kendra D’Ambrosia, Penelope and Francesca Jobst. Great Grandson Ben LaBrie. She also leaves behind her Goddaughter Linda Bramhall, Marilyn Ryder, Gloria Durkee, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Jean or “Noni” as most of us knew her, after graduating from Athol High School in 1948 attended “Henri’s Hairdressing School” in Springfield, Ma., She worked for Wood’s Beauty Parlor and within a few years owned her own business “Jean’s Beauty Bar” until she retired. She volunteered her entire life for various organizations including The Board of Directors for Chuck Stone Little League, Baldwinville Nursing Home, Our Lady Immaculate Church and the Athol Council on Aging. She was on the Board of Directors for the Athol Senior Center and spent 4-5 days per week volunteering there.
She was known for her unbelievable talent of bowling, painting, needlepoint, knitting and crocheting. She made baby hats for the NICU at UMass Medical Center. She loved to make new babies in the family and friend’s families, baby hats, sweaters & blankets. She had a “Green Thumb" and her flower gardens were always gorgeous.
Jean lived a full, wonderful life on her terms for 94 years, living on her own in her own home until she passed.
She was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Jennie Delmolino, her husband Robert Ryder, her brother Richard Delmolino, her sister Joan Davidson,, her son-in-law James LaCroix, dear friend Theresa Obue, special friend Pat Russell along with many other family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 1-3 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., Orange, MA
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 7, 2024 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol, MA.
Interment will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol, MA
