Jeanette (Duguay) Capone

ATHOL- Jeanette (Duguay) Capone, 90, of Gibson Drive, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 1, 2026 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.

Born in Athol on August 28, 1935, she was the daughter of Hyacinth and Anna (Savoy) Duguay and one of 12 children including her twin brother John. She was raised in Athol and graduated from Athol High School.

Jeanette was married to James Capone for nearly 33 years when he predeceased her in 1992.

A member of Our Lady Immaculate Church in Athol, Jeanette was also a cook for the Parish rectory.

Jeanette was an avid dancer and loved theatre. She was an active member of numerous YMCA Minstrel shows. Jeanette was a wonderful cook and baker and known for her famous Whoopie pies. She was also known for her love of performing and making people laugh,

Devoted to her family, Jeanette was always there for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jeanette had worked as a waitress for several local restaurants and previously had cleaned private homes, worked at the Bedroom Factory as well as being a housekeeper at Quabbin Valley Healthcare (formerly the Fleetwood Nursing Home)

Jeanette is survived by her children, Ann Rodriguez of Seabrook, TX, David Capone of Athol, Beth Christiansen (Troy Laffond) of Orange, and Julie Bouchard (Darren) of Orange; grandchildren, Kevin Rodriguez, James, Jonathan and Reese Capone, Fallon and Amelia Capone, CJ Christiansen, Olivia Smith and Sophia Smith- Mailloux; as well as several great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.

Besides her parents and husband, Jeanette was predeceased by son Jay Capone, and her 11 siblings.

There are no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held on July 18, 2026 at 11 a.m. in Silver Lake Cemetery, the upper section off Lenox Street, Athol.
