Jeffrey P. Holston

ORANGE- Jeffrey P. Holston, 60, of Sherman Ave, and a life -long resident of Orange, MA died at home April 5th, having lost a long struggle with mental illness.  

Jeff was born September, 11, 1961 and was the son of John E. and the late Ruth (Brunelle) Holston. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Mahar Regional High School in 1979. He worked as a machinist at Union Butterfield, L.S. Starrett, Erving Paper Mill, Greenfield Tap and Die, and Niagara Cutter, as a tree cutter, and most recently in home delivery of newspapers.

Jeff enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling, rock concerts, canoeing and other outdoor sports. He hiked locally, as well as in the White Mountains, the Green Mountains, the Katahdin region and the Adirondacks. He hiked the 114 miles of the M/M trail in Massachusetts and helped cut the first section of the Tully Trail with Mt. Grace Land Conservation Trust.

He leaves his father, John Holston of Orange; his sisters, Julie Holston of West Boylston, Jody (Darrin) Langlois of Athol, brothers John (Diane) Holston of Athol, and James (Nancy) Holston of Scarborough ME, as well as his nieces, Grace Quimby of West Boylston, Claire Byrnes of Worcester, Amelia Holstrom of Wilbraham, MA, and Olivia Holston of Newington, CT.

Jeffrey was predeceased by his mother Ruth Holston and sister Janine Holston.  

Calling hours will be held Thursday May 5, from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

The family is asking for the wearing of masks to protect vulnerable individuals.
