Jeraldine "Jerry" (Belloli) Hurtle Obituary

ORANGE- Jeraldine (Jerry) of Orange, MA, beloved wife of Howard Hurtle and daughter of Everette and Dolores (Theobald) Belloli passed away on December 30, 2023, after a brief illness.
A graduate of Mahar Regional High School and Burbank Hospital; her career began in 1970 doing geriatric nursing at local nursing homes, pediatric nursing at Athol Memorial Hospital, providing home health care with Visiting Nurses, and transitioning to retirement from a surgeon’s office.
Jerry’s interests and hobbies included line dancing, swimming at the YMCA, playing cards and all word games. She loved golden oldies music and was a fan of old mystery movies.  She was an avid reader of mysteries and court room dramas. Other activities of interest, she wrote short stories and poems, and participated in creative writing and desktop publishing with a few publications. Jerry enjoyed sketching, acrylic painting, and the most favorite - coloring with Crayola crayons.
She facilitated “Art for Elders” at the Athol, Orange, and Erving Senior Centers in 2010.  Also, Jerry taught Christian doctrine classes, participated in generations of faith and attended Centering Prayer with others from Saint Mary’s Parish of Orange.
She and Howard maintained and bred beagles and kept a kennel. Together with some of her pet beagles walked thousands of miles over a ten-year period.
Her two favorite vacation places are Rye, NH (Atlantic Ocean) and Howard’s camp in Pittsburg, NH (the White Mountains).
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph (infant), Peter, and Glenn Belloli.
She is survived by her husband Howard Hurtle, and five “most wonderful” children: Holly Bridgeford (Jim), Jackie Hurtle (Glenn Banks), Angela Bright, Kenneth Hurtle (Yarely Lizeth Guerrero Sanchez), and Chad Hurtle. She was extremely excited about her first grandchild Haley Elizabeth Hurtle born in March 2023. She leaves two sisters both of Orange, Jean Hebert and Julie Belloli, brother Ted Belloli (Donna Fitzgerald) of Virginia, sister-in-law Norma Belloli and brother-in-law Roger Hurtle. She leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, Redbook friends, and life-long friends Barbara, Brenda and Clevie.
There will be no funeral/calling hours.   
There will be a celebration of life on May 13th.   
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Orange Scholarship Fund P.O. Box 298 Orange, MA 01364 or to the Athol Area YMCA Athol, MA 01331.
