Jill J. (Jardine) Landry

ATHOL- Jill J. Landry passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at home after declining health. 

Jill was born in Gardner, MA on June 25, 1937.  Her parents were Allan Dickson Jardine and Winona (Simpson) Jardine.  Jill was a life-long resident of Athol.

After graduating from Athol High School in 1955, Jill worked as a Switch Board Operator for New England Telephone.  While busy raising her 3 children, Jill worked as a Cafeteria Aid for Athol Junior High School.  Jill’s part-time employment continued as a Surgical Equipment Sterilizer for Athol Memorial Hospital.  Her full-time career began at the L.S. Starrett Company and continued for 14 years until her retirement in 1994. 

She leaves behind her husband of 65 years, J. Thomas Landry.  She also leaves behind her three children, Thomas M. Landry and his wife Mary-Ellen Landry of Columbia SC, Karen J. Millay and her husband Mark P. Millay of Auburn, MA, and Jo-Ellen (Josie) Heath and her husband Brian A. Heath of Orange, MA.  Jill had five grandchildren who she loved dearly:  Megan Maklad, Ryan Millay, Randy Millay, Riley Millay and Jordan Heath.  Recently, Jill became a great grandmother to Summer Millay and Samir Maklad.  Jill’s passion was always focused on her children and her grandchildren.

Jill had a strong love for all animals, particularly dogs and cats.  Jill was often heard saying she loved animals more than people.  

Services will be private.
