ORANGE- John B. “John Junk” Mosher Sr., 78, of West Main Street, died early Monday morning, August 28, 2023 at Heywood Hospital in Gardner.
Born on September 13, 1944, he was the son of Leroy Mosher Sr. and Olive (Bailey) Mosher and grew up in Athol, attending Athol Schools.
John married Bonnie J. (Wilkey) on April 26, 1963 and had just celebrated 60 years of marriage before her death on April 28, 2023.
John had worked at Al’s Quick Lube for many years. He previously had worked for Superior Pre-cast, Athol Table, drove taxi, as well as worked at several furniture shops in Gardner.
He was an avid Red Sox fan and had enjoyed auctions, antiquing and flea markets. He loved time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and trips to Maine. He recently was a volunteer hall monitor.
Survivors include his children, Kelly Harris and her husband, Larry, of Athol, Gregory Mosher, Renee Mosher-Borey and her husband, Steven, and Marie Mosher and her partner, Jim Vescovi, all of Orange; grandchildren, Seana Pitts and her husband, Dave, of Gardner, Bethani Mosher of Los Angeles, CA, Jamie Mosher of Washington state, Alivia Liberty and Ava Liberty, both of Amherst; a great grandchild, Britton Pitts of Gardner; brothers, Jimmy Mosher of Orange, Jeff Mosher of Orange and Scott Mosher of Athol; and many nephews and nieces.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by a son, John B. Mosher Jr. on October 5, 2008, and by a brother, Leroy Mosher.
There are no calling hours.
Services and interment in South Cemetery, Orange, will be private.
