ATHOL- Joseph L. Brozell, 25, of Cottage Street, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 2, 2025 at home.
Born in Aurora, Illinois on January 7, 2000, he moved to Barre, Massachusetts at age 7, attending Barre public schools. He later moved to the Athol-Orange area and graduated from Ralph C. Mahar Regional in 2018.
Joseph had been working for Joseph Mallet and Son laying asphalt. He had previously worked for Friendly’s Ice Cream in the manufacturing plant in Wilbraham. He had lived in Springfield for a year.
Joseph loved all sports, especially football. He was a huge Kansas City fan and had participated in the Athol Area YMCA Purple Ribbon program.
Joseph is survived by his father, Kenneth Brozell of Athol; his mother, Monica Wrath of Athol; step mother, Mary Malo of Orange; a son, Abraham Brozell of Gilbertville;; brothers, Jeremiah Wrath, Jacob Brozell and Milton Brozell, all of Athol; a step brother, Adam Lopes-Malo of Orange; nephew Avavion Wrath; niece Janavi Wrath; sister in law Alexis Schrecke; several aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as many friends.
Joseph was predeceased by his grandparents.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June10, 2025 from 10 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a short period of time for words of remembrance, at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
Interment will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol.
