ATHOL- Joseph R. Leavitt, 70 years old, of Paige Street, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on December 23, 2024 in his home with family by his side. He fought a hard fight of pancreatic cancer.
Born in Athol, Mass., on January 10, 1954, the son of Hazel (Rayner) and Fred Leavitt.
He worked at Duall’s Plastic for 25 years and also J. F. McElwain’s Shoe Shop.
He married his lovely wife Donna (Davis) on August 18, 1984 and enjoyed 40 years together.
Joseph loved to travel to Lancaster, PA on family vacations, and also loved the Boston Red Sox and candle pin bowling.
He was a member of the Athol-Orange Baptist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Donna Leavitt of Athol; his two children, Amanda and Matthew of Athol; a sister, Louise Daub (Jeff) of Athol; a brother, Thomas Leavitt (Jacinta) of Athol; a brother, Mike Leavitt (Mindy) of Athol; uncle and aunt Richard and Ginny Lee of Orange; uncle and uncle Roger and Rita Rayner of Athol; aunt Pat Rayner of Phillipston. He also leaves several cousins, nieces, great nieces, great nephews; and his two Shelties “Zac” and “Bella” who he loved to walk with.

A celebration of life will be held at the Athol-Orange Baptist Church, 260 Walnut Street, Athol, on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11 a.m.
