Joyce E. (Sweet) Bashaw

ORANGE- Joyce E. (Sweet) Bashaw, 82, of East River Street, died Saturday evening, March 2, 2024 at Regal Care at Greenfield.

Born in Athol on November 18, 1941, she was the daughter of Joseph and Thelma (Coy) Sweet and grew up in the Athol-Orange area, graduating from Ralph C. Mahar Regional in 1959.

Joyce married Carl Bashaw and they have enjoyed over 50 years of marriage.

Joyce was outgoing and loved everyone and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Bashaw, of Orange; her children, Rebecca Laclair and her husband, Frank, of Hampton, NH, Joseph Hatch and his wife, Paula, of Arlington, TX, Lynn Lefrancois of Orange, Michille Avdic of Orange, Shannon Isakson and his wife, Becky, of Florida, and Casey Bashaw and his wife, Kirsten, of Orange; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by a daughter, Kim Coy, a son, Jeffrey Hatch, and a granddaughter, Mandy Avdic.

There are no calling hours.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. at the Orange American Legion, 40 Daniel Shays Highway, Orange.

Interment will be in South Cemetery, 585 South Main Street, Orange, on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 11 a.m.
