Joyce "Jo" (Morris) Mason Obituary

ORANGE- Joyce "Jo" Mason (Morris) on February 28, 2023 ,after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Joyce Mason left this world to reunite with loved ones lost.

Joyce was born on January 2,1938 to the late George and Helen (Coburn) Morris. Joyce grew up in various towns in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Joyce worked as a seamstress and dress maker. She also worked at home as a laundry, mending, and ironing service.

Joyce was a multi-talented artist and crafter. She enjoyed drawing, painting, ceramics, knitting, and crocheting. She was exceptionally talented at counted cross stitch embroidery.

Joyce enjoyed baking. Her pies will not be forgotten. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She made jams and jellies of every flavor. Her homemade apple sauce and apple butter were out of this world!

Joyce enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings and barbecues. Bringing the family together gave her the greatest joy.

Many people don't know this but, Joyce was a very good singer. If you were lucky, you could catch her singing along with Tammy Wynette  or Anne Murray while she cooked or cleaned in the kitchen.

Joyce was a kind and generous soul. She spent many winters knitting or crocheting lap blankets which she donated to area nursing homes and countless children's hats and mittens which she donated to Valuing Our Children of Athol.

Joyce was loved more than she knew and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children, Debra Stiles  and her husband Stephen of Gardner, Marcia Murphy and her husband, Paul of Templeton, Steven Hollister and his fiance Virginia of Fitchburg and Robin Heitmann of Phillipston.
