ATHOL- Judith K. “Judy” (Gullage) MacEwen, 64, of Silver Lake Street, died peacefully at home on Thursday, September 22, 2022 following a brief illness, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Holyoke on March 10, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Robert G. and Catherine (Griffin) Gullage and grew up in New Salem, graduating from Ralph C. Mahar Regional in 1976.
On July 21, 1984, Judy married Paul MacEwen and they have enjoyed 38 years of marriage and raising their family together.
Judy has worked the past ten years for Meals On Wheels which she truly enjoyed. She previously had been a server at several area restaurants.
Judy loved spending time with her family and extended family, whether it was backyard bbq’s or family celebrations, she always enjoyed socializing with everyone!
Judy enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and had been a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Paul MacEwen of Athol; her sons, Gregory MacEwen and his wife, Elizabeth, of Groton, and Kyle MacEwen and his wife, Lisa, of Braintree; grandchildren, Connor, Cora, Mara, Thomas, and Madelyn “Maddie”. She also leaves her siblings, Robert Gullage of Downey, CA, Dan Gullage and his wife, Theresa, of Orange, Gary Gullage and his wife, Carole, of Orange, Peter Gullage of New Salem and Susan Gullage and her companion, John Gale, of New Salem; many nephews and nieces as well as many friends.
Judy was predeceased by her father in 2001, her mother in 2008, and a brother, David Gullage, in 2019.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School Street, Athol, with Fr. Mateus Sousa officiating.
Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol.
