Judith L. (Powers) Wetherby

ORANGE- Judith L. (Powers) Wetherby of Columbus, GA and formerly of town, passed away recently at her home in Georgia.

She was a daughter of the late Robert A. and Ruth E. (Shaw) Powers.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Roberta A. “Bobbie” Cantrell of Athol and a brother, David S. Powers of Columbus, GA.

Judith’s sister, Janet E. (Powers) Holden lives in Wendell, MA. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews and their families, on both the Wetherby and Powers branches of her family tree.

Judith was formerly married to Russell G. Wetherby, a member of the Orange High School Class of 1953. Judith graduated from Orange High School in 1955, and they were married at the First Universalist Church in 1956 and they moved to Columbus where her husband was stationed with the United States Army at Fort Benning.

Judith lived in Georgia for her entire married life, but maintained friendships with a few people in town.

Private services will be held at South Cemetery in Orange, MA.
