ORANGE- Kelly Lee Cellana, 66, of Walnut Hill Road in Orange, Mass. passed away peacefully in her home early Thursday morning, December 19, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kelly was born in Newport, Vermont on February 24, 1958 and was the daughter of Gary and Janice (Rabideau) Lanpher Sr. Kelly attended Ralph C. Mahar Regional High School in Orange, where she was a cheer-leader for both the football and basketball teams and played the drums in the High School Marching Band. She was also in the Fish & Game Club, performed in Variety Shows, was in chorus, the Winter Carnival’s Queen’s Court, and was secretary of the Student Council. She graduated in 1976 and then attended Endicott College in Beverly, Mass. where she graduated in 1978, majoring in Interior Design.
Kelly worked at Rodney Hunt Company in Orange and later at Butler’s Paint Store in Athol. She was a very skillful painter and decorator, creating many beautiful paintings and decorating numerous homes throughout the area.
Kelly enjoyed gardening, painting, quilting, canning, and volunteering her time at various church and town functions.
Kelly was predeceased by her husband of 43 years and high school sweetheart, Perry Cellana, her parents Gary, Sr. and Janice Lanpher, and her in-laws Remo and Helen Cellana.
She leaves behind a son, Chad Cellana, of Leominster; a brother, Gary “Chip” Lanpher Jr. (Jane) of Petersham; a sister, Jamie Boyd of Texas; a sister in law, Marie Sanborn (Wayne) of Westminiser; a brother in law, Peter Cellana (Suzanne Roberts) of Orange; a daughter in law, Tessa Hynes of Colorado; grandsons, Mason and Nicco of Colorado; a niece, Tonya Lanpher of Orange; a niece, Mara Boyd of Texas; a niece, Haley Sanborn McInerney of Connecticut; a nephew, Scott Lanpher (Jenn) of Petersham; a nephew, William Lawrence, of Weymouth; and a nephew, Dylan Boyd (Sherri) of Texas.
Calling hours will be held on May 10, 2025 from 10- 11:45 a.m. at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on May 10, 2025 at 12 noon at St. Mary's Church, 19 Congress Street, Orange, with Fr. Mark Glover officiating.
