He graduated from Williamson College of the Trades, working first with his father. Forever a carpenter, he was an active member of the Community Ambulance Association of Ambler and in 1967 began another career, working his way up through the ranks as a police officer with Lower Gwynedd Township, Pennsylvania. Moving to Massachusetts in 2007 to be near his grandchildren, and where he could stable horses on his own property, he liked woodworking, training his dog and playing trombone in the Orange and Belchertown community bands.
