Orange- Laurenda “Lee” “Leeline” (Duguay) Holmes, 90, of Orange, Ma, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Alliance Health at Baldwinville.
Born in Athol on January 12, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Hyacinthe and Anna (Savoie) Duguay. She grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School.
She was previously married to Lyman Holmes for 32 years.
Laurenda previously worked at the L.S. Starrett Co. and at several restaurants as a prep cook.
She loved to play poker. She enjoyed game shows and dancing. She loved to watch the Patriots, especially Tom Brady.
She was a tomboy growing up and played baseball in school. She was also a good ice skater.
Survivors include a son Michael Holmes of Sanbornville, N.H., a daughter Chris-Ann Holmes of Athol, grandchildren, Brittney Holmes, Kaylyn McCorquodale, Jillian Euvrard, Joseph Holmes and Lauren Langan. Great grand children, Keira, Jay and Josephine; sisters, Marie Songer and Jeannette Capone; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by a son, Daryl Holmes and brothers Wilbert(Shrimpy) Leonard(Pee Wee) Edward (Smokey) Johnny, Nelson(Nussie) and Richard. Sisters, Laura and Marguerite Duguay and Edna Mallett.
There are no calling hours or services.
Interment in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol, will be private.
