ATHOL- Leonardo A. “Leo” Castagnaro III, 45, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 in Athol.
Born in Greenfield on May 26, 1979, he was the son of Leonardo A. Jr. and Denise (Lefrancois) Castagnaro.
Leo grew up in the Athol-Orange area and graduated from Ralph C. Mahar Regional in 1997.
He had worked in construction for several years, later going to work at Hi-De Liners, Inc. in Orange.
Leo loved the Transformers, his dogs Buddy and Tiny, fishing, working on cars and Cumby’s iced coffee! Most of all, Leo loved his family.
Leo is survived by daughters, Hailey Castagnaro of Deer Park, TX and Cheyenne Mayer of Winchendon; grandchildren, Ella, Frejya and Colton; his mother and step father, Denise Grummell and Alan Grummell of Athol; sisters, Angel Torres (Gilberto Jr.), Maria Castagnaro (Justin Livingston) and Amanda Grummell, all of Athol; brothers Alan Grummell Jr. (Danyelle Bushey) of Athol and Donald Maynard of Royalston; many nephews and nieces; many aunts and uncles including “his favorites” Michael and Lauren Lefrancois.
There are no calling hours.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
