Linda J. (Rivers) Temple

ORANGE- Linda Temple died on Feb. 2, 2023 in her home, surrounded by family.

Born in Orange on August 6, 1944, she was the daughter of Raymond and Arlene (Wright) Rivers, and grew up in Tully. She attended Orange schools, and served for 40+ years for the Orange Historical Society as the Town Historian. 

On July 16, 1965 Linda married Steven Temple and enjoyed 37 wonderful years married before his unfortunate passing on Nov. 20, 2002. They purchased a home together in Orange, MA in 1970, where they spent many years together raising their four children.

Linda was an avid lover of history, and spent most of her adult life diligently researching the history of her family and the Town of Orange.  

Linda is survived by her four children, Joseph Temple and daughter-in-law June Temple (Thompson), Lisa Karichko (Temple) and son-in-law Robert Karichko, Diane Panzarello (Temple) and son-in-law Mark Panzarello, Debra Boyer and late husband David Boyer. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Randall Sevene and Amber Sevene (Whitmore), Brian Boyer, Marie Long (Sevene) and Henry Long, Shawn Karichko, Tiffany Alberts (Karichko) and Chace Alberts, Jessica Martin (Temple), Nick Boyer, Kristin Karichko, Amber Boyer, along with ten beloved great- grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters, Becky Young (Rivers) and Sue Maroni (Rivers) and her husband Dan Maroni.

Besides her parents and husband, Linda was predeceased by a brother, Henry “Hank” Rivers. 

Celebration of life and graveside services to be announced at later date.

 In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Linda’s lifelong passion, the Orange Historical Society, P.O. Box 28, Orange, MA 01364-0028.
