ORANGE- Lorraine H. (Morrison) Mallet, 82, of Athol Road, died on Wednesday evening, August 14, 2024 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.
Born in Athol on December 28, 1941, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Alice (Morse) Morrison and grew up in Orange, graduating from Ralph C. Mahar Regional in 1960.
Lorraine was married to Donald Mallet who died on December 3, 2019.
Lorraine enjoyed the outdoors especially cycling, gardening, kayaking, walking, and going to the ocean. She was an excellent baker and cook. Lorraine took up photography and made a black room to develop her own pictures. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, tinkering and building mechanical devices which included rebuilding her 1940’s Buick
Lorraine had volunteered at the Community Church of North Orange and Tully for several years with their church dinners.
Survivors include her son Timothy Mallet of Athol; a step daughter, Karen Wilson, of Michigan; a sister, Lois Morrison-Keffer, of Los Gatos, California; step granddaughter Samantha O’Brien and her son Andre; step granddaughter Jessica O’Brien and her children Trey and Memphis; and several nephews and nieces.
Besides her parents and husband, Lorraine was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth E. Morrison on January 11, 2003 and by Richard E. Morrison on March 16, 2008
There are no calling hours or services.
Interment in South Cemetery, Orange, will be private.
