ATHOL- Margaret E. “Peggy” (Fitzgerald) Liversage, 85, of West Royalston Road, died early Sunday morning, May 5, 2024 at the Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Gardner.
Born in Cambridge on May 19, 1938, she was the daughter of Michael and Claire (Gutro) Fitzgerald, and grew up in Dracut.
One to never get discouraged, especially after losing an eye in 1976, Peggy was upbeat and enjoyed caring for her family and was especially fond of grandson Michael and great grandson Charlie.
Peggy was married to Kenneth Liversage.
A devout Catholic, Peggy read her Bible daily and taught her family about God, Jesus and to love and pray. She loved the two big Catholic holidays, Christmas and Easter.
A kind hearted lady, Peggy was a great cook and kept an immaculate house. She enjoyed movies, dining out, and especially weekend cook outs, along with warm summer nights.
Peggy is survived by her children, Linda Michaud, Kenny Liversage and his wife Audrey, all of Athol, Paula Duquette and her husband John of Lowell and Douglas Liversage of California; thirteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; along with aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides her parents, Peggy was predeceased by a son, Gary Liversage, a brother, Gene Gautreau and a sister, Linda Gautreau.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Silver Lake Cemetery, off Horrigan Ave., Athol.
