ATHOL, Marilyn L. (Goodwin) Cummings, 88, of Harvard Avenue, died early Saturday morning, June 21, 2025 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.
Born in Lunenburg on August 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Leslie B. and Pearl V. (Adams) Goodwin and grew up in Athol where she has lived most of her life and attended Athol High School.
Marilyn was married to Joseph W. Cummings Sr. for 58 years until his death on July 25, 2011.
For many years, Marilyn worked for Horrigan Cleaners as well as Parady’s Cleaners.
An active member of the Orange United Methodist Church for years, Marilyn worked many church fairs and activities. She was a member of the Athol Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and for 24 years volunteered at the gift shop.
Besides spending time with her family, she had enjoyed camping throughout New England with her husband.
Marilyn is survived by two sons, Joseph W. Cummings Jr. and his wife Trisha of Royalston and Robert E. Cummings and his wife Carol of Athol; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Marilyn was predeceased by two sisters, Gloria Boblin and Phyllis Aronlad, as well as two brothers, Norman Goodwin and Robert Goodwin.
Funeral services and interment in Tully Cemetery, Orange, will be private.
