ATHOL- Marilyn P. (Perry) McIntosh, 94, of Winter Street, died early Thursday morning, February 27, 2025 at Athol Hospital.
Born in Greenfield on April 30, 1930, she was the daughter of Clarence and Blanche (Hunt) Perry.
On December 26, 1953, Marilyn married William J. McIntosh and enjoyed over 60 years of marriage until his death in 2014.
Marilyn worked as a telephone operator for Verizon. She also was a member and volunteer of the Telephone Pioneers.
Marilyn was very active in the Athol Congregational Church, including the Women’s Fellowship and preparing Deacon baskets.
Marilyn enjoyed doing puzzles and her cat “Billie”.
Survivors include her daughters, Judith McIntosh and Sandra Knight, both of Athol; grandchildren, Tony McIntosh and his wife, Tina, of Athol, Stormi Hazel Knight and husband Colin Callahan, of Melrose, and Elli Christensen and husband, Brandon, of Escondido, CA; great grandchildren, Brent Haskins and wife, Sam, of Gardner, Abbigayle McIntosh of Marlboro, Alex McIntosh of Athol, Mac Callahan of Melrose, Billy Callahan of Melrose and Archer Christensen of Escondido, CA; a sister in law, Marilyn Farnum and her family of Athol; and many nephews and nieces.
Besides her parents and husband, Marilyn was predeceased by a brother, Donald Perry, and his wife Harriet
There are no calling hours.
A celebration of life will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Athol Congregational Church, 1225 Chestnut Street, Athol.
A reception will follow in the church hall.
Interment will be private in Highland Cemetery, Athol.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn’s memory can be made to the Athol Congregational Church, 1225 Chestnut Street, Athol, MA 01331.
