ATHOL- Marjorie T. (Parks) Posk "Midge" (92) formally of 72 J.Street Athol Ma passed away peacefully on July 11th at the Alliance Health Care Nursing Home in Baldwinsville.
Marjorie was born in Athol, on January 13th 1932 to Finley J. and Doris E. (Jardine) Parks. She grew up in Athol and attended Athol Schools, she graduated from Athol High School in 1949.
In 1952 she married her husband Francis J. Posk, and they shared 59 years of marriage together before his passing in 2011.
She was a loving and devoted Mother to her four children Debra (Brian) Rice, Robert (Gail) Posk, Pamela (Kenneth), St.Hilaire , Terence (Sally) Posk all of Athol. She loved spending time with her eight grandchildren, Shelley Rice, Krista Sciucco, Jeremy Posk, Ashley Clarkson, Andrew & Timothy St.Hilaire, Jamie Posk & Alan Coffin. And her nine great grandchildren Hunter Sciucco, Logan & Zachary Posk, Taylor & Jayden St. Hilaire, Makennah, Lillyanna, Brett and Bryleigh Clarkson. She grew up in Athol with her older brother Finley Parks Jr. ( Nilo Santiago) & younger brother Edward (Sylvia) Parks all of Virginia.
In her younger years she worked in the office at her uncle Jack's car dealership, The Sunbeam Nursery school & for the Athol school department as an aide. She also worked for Starrett Tools as a secretary in the Mic department until her retirement in 1996. After her retirement she enjoyed spending her free time supporting her Grandchildren at their local sporting events & Activities. She enjoyed attending work out classes at the Athol YMCA, going biking with friends & relaxing with a crossword puzzle as she watched her favorite shows. She was always the first to arrive to family birthday parties & holiday events with her "Famous" chocolate pie or her "Grammy squares" & hay stacks which always tasted delicious because she made them. She enjoyed spending time going antiquing with her brother Sonny & his partner Nilo when they would come to visit from Virginia. She enjoyed spending quality time with her grandkids taking them to local plays & shopping to make them feel special. Each Sunday she would start her day by visiting each of her children and their families at their homes to spend time with them & talk over coffee. Marjorie will forever be remembered for being a sweet, selfless & loving person who was cherished by her family & all who knew her.
Marjorie is now reunited in Heaven with her loved ones who passed before her which include her parents Finley J. & Doris E. Parks, her beloved brother Finley J. Parks Jr., her husband Francis J. Posk and her oldest son Robert J. Posk who passed unexpected in April of this year.
A calling hour will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 1-2 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home following the calling hour.
Interment in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol, will be private.
