ORANGE- Marvis A. (Ingalls) Michel, 97, of Chase Street, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, December 28, 2021 at home surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Orange on February 9, 1924, she was the daughter of Fred R. and Dorothy M. (Brown) Ingalls and grew up in Orange, graduating from Orange High School in 1941.
On November 22, 1941, she married William D. Michel and they enjoyed and enjoyed over 62 years of marriage until his death on June 15, 2004.
Marvis worked as a sales clerk for Erving Paper Mill for 35 years, retiring in 1981.
A member of Saint Mary’s Church, she was also a member of the Saint Mary’s Women’s Club, where she had worked on numerous fairs and funeral receptions for the club fund rising.
Marvis is survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Satrowsky of Newbury, Steven Satrowsky of Warwick and Michael Satrowsky of Cary, NC; a great granddaughter, Margaret Harrison of Newbury; a great grandson, Colt Satrowsky of Cary, NC; a son in law, Ronald “Reggie” Satrowsky of Orange; and many nephews and nieces.
Besides her parents and husband, Marvis was predeceased by her daughter, Marie Satrowsky on March 31, 2016, as well as sisters, Marion Laford and Kay Strach, and brothers, Flory Ingalls and Wayne Ingalls.
There are no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 14, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church, 19 Congress Street, Orange, with Fr. Shaun O’Connor officiating.
Interment in South Cemetery, Orange, will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Saint Mary’s Church or St. Vincent de Paul Society, both at 19 Congress Street, Orange, MA 01364.
