Mary R. (Nail) Boutelle

PHILLIPSTON- Mary Roberta (Nail) Boutelle passed away July 26, 2022 at the home of her son and daughter in law, whom were by her side.

Mary was born in Montague, MA on April 28, 1948 and resided in Orange for most of her childhood.

On May 6, 1966, Mary wed the love of her life, John H. Boutelle, of Phillipston where they raised their family until John’s death in 2011. They celebrated 45 years of marriage, but Mary never removed her wedding ring.

Mary is predeceased by her son John Jr. in 2012.

Mary leaves a son, Jason H. Boutelle and his wife, Kristin, of Phillipston who were her caregivers until the end. Mary also leaves a nephew, Jeff Nail, of Orange, MA, and a great nephew, Tyler Nail, also of Orange, whom she loved very much. Mary also leaves other relatives across the country.

Mary lived in Phillipston for nearly 50 years and was a Sunday school teacher and worked at the bazaar for many years.

Mary retired from Starrett’s for over 30 years working in Dept. 8 where she befriended two wonderful women, Romona Hubbard of Petersham and Anita Cleveland formerly of Royalston. They shared many fond memories over the years and their friendship was cherished by Mary.

Mary loved her flower gardens and being outside. She enjoyed camping with her family for many years at Wagon Wheel Campground in Warwick, MA.

There are no calling hours.

Interment will be private in Lower Cemetery in Phillipston where she will be laid to rest beside her husband John and son, John Jr.

Donations may be made in Mary’s name to the Phillipston Fire Association, 90 State Road, Phillipston, MA 01331.
