Michael A. Horne Jr.

ATHOL- Michael went home to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning.

He is survived by his son, his friend Michael the 3rd who was the world to him, he was an excellent father while he was in Mikey's life.  He is also survived by his father Michael Sr.  and his wife Patricia, his mother Samantha and her husband Mike. Michael has many siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and many friends that love him dearly.

Michael graduated from Athol High School where he was awarded the Sportsmanship Award twice by the Football team.

He went on to work at Upton Nursing Center and Baldwinville Nursing Home as a dietary aide, from there Greenwood Industries as a job-cost estimator, and recently attended night school in Ware to obtain an E.M.T. certificate. He was currently working as a Private Personal Care Attendant.

Michael loved spending time with his family,friends and was involved with his younger siblings' homeschooling. He enjoyed music, Detroit Lions football and was always quick with a well timed joke.

His heart was genuine and always made everyone feel comfortable with a hug and a smile. His willingness to help those in need was unmatched and he had a servants heart.

Michael was recently baptized in Rhode Island with the  A.O.B.C. church family while attending a men's retreat. He loved the Lord, and that love in his heart made him not only a good man, son, sibling, uncle, but most importantly, a great friend. Michael will be sorely missed but his Spirit will live forever in everyone he came in contact with, and will forever be his mother's little "coocoo baby".
