Nancy (Bauer) Mousley Obituary

ORANGE-Nancy (Bauer) Mousley of Prescott Valley, AZ, and formerly of Orange, MA, passed away peacefully on Sept. 1, 2024. She was born in Pontiac, MI on June 21, 1938.

Nancy had a happy childhood growing up in Stillwater, Minnesota on the banks of the St. Croix River.  She attended Lawrence College in Appleton, WI where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.  She transferred to the University of Minnesota and obtained her B.A. in Psychology there in 1959.  Following her graduation, she worked with her father at 3M Company in St. Paul.

She married H. Arthur Mousley, of Millburn New Jersey, on June 20, 1959 and after living in Minnesota for a few years they moved to Syracuse, Indiana where they had their 3 children. Nancy greatly enjoyed being a mother and also spent time golfing, bowling and enjoying time with friends on Lake Wawasee.

Her family moved to Orange, MA in 1972 and she loved living in New England.  She planned many family day trips to explore the area.  She made life-long friends in Orange whom she cherished.

She worked as a Special Education teacher in the Orange elementary school system for 30 years and served several years as President of the Teachers Union, and earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Fitchburg State College.

She was an active member of the Pioneer Valley Junior Women’s Club where she served 2 years as President and was chosen as Clubwoman of the Year in 1983.  She worked with the Orange Recreation Association and contributed to the Orange Oracle as Managing Editor and was a member of the Library Board of Trustees where she also served as Chairman for several years.

Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, weaving and traveling with her friends and she was always reading a book.   When she retired to Prescott Valley, AZ, she enjoyed the warm weather, hiking, having more time to read and weave, and had many traveling adventures with her sister, Judy.  She also was a member of the social club in the Prescott Valley Country Club, the P.O.E.

Nancy is survived by her 3 children; Jill Mollica and her husband, David, of Berlin MA;  Gregg and his wife Lisa of Jericho, VT; and Jeff and his wife, Rashelle, of Saratoga Springs, UT; her brother Bruce Bauer and his wife Jean Hamburg of Healdsburg, CA; her 6 grandchildren  and her good friend, Janice Lanou.
