ORANGE- We lost a wonderful man on September 18, 2024.
Born on August 3rd 1959 to Remo and Helen (Deyo) Cellana. He grew up in Orange, graduated from Mahar Regional High School in 1977, where he played football. He was very proud, in his senior year, the Mahar Senators (had the best team that came out of Mahar) won the state championship.
From high school, he went into the Navy, as he always loved the sea. He traveled the world while serving and learned the trade of welding and silver braising. He taught these trades at the Naval Reserve Academy in Westover Air Force Base in the 80’s.
In 1981, he married his high school sweetheart, Kelly Lanpher. They had a son, Chad, in 1983.
He went to plumbing school at night while working full time for Piragis Plumbing and Heating.
Perry’s hobbies were foraging for mushrooms. He was aksed “How can you tell the good mushrooms from the bad?” His response was, “Well…….I make my wife an omelet and if she’s here the next day………….they’re good!!!” He loved being a jokester and making everyone laugh. He also enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with friends and family, especially his two grandsons Mason and Nicco.
Perry was predeceased by his father in 2012 and his mother in 2014.
He leaves his wife of 43 years, Kelly; his son, Chad Cellana; two grandsons, Mason Cellana Hynes and Nicco Cellana Hynes; his loved like a daughter, Tessa Hynes; his sister, Jean Marie Sanborn and her husband Wayne; his brother Peter Cellana and his girlfriend Suzanne Roberts; his brother in law Gary Lanpher and his wife Jane; a sister in law Jamie Boyd; and many nieces and nephews.
