ORANGE- Primo A. Martinelli, 82, of Highland Street, died on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Healthcare Campus in Worcester.
Born in Orange on June 7, 1939, he was the son of Primo and Evelyn Martinelli and grew up in Orange.
Primo has been married to Virginia (Worsely) for 64 years.
Primo was employed by the Town of Orange for many years at the Highway Department before retiring, where he operated the grader. He previously had worked the High Tension lines, both the police and fire departments, served as an ambulance driver and briefly worked at Rodney Hunt’s.
Primo was a caring husband, father and grandfather as well as the neighborhood jokester. He enjoyed camping and fishing and was a skilled woodworker. Primo was famous for making spicy meatballs.
Primo is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Martinelli; his children, Tim Martinelli (Jianmei), Tami Martinelli (Pat), Todd Martinelli and Tabby Martinelli; several grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Martinelli (Rhoda); sisters, Anne Boyle (Norman) and Jean LaMonda; sister in law, Doris Martinelli; and nephews and nieces.
Besides his parents, Primo was predeceased by a brother, Richard Martinelli (3/27/2014), and sisters, Arlene Martinelli (6/17/2020) and Rena Smith (11/11/2009).
There are no calling hours.
The family will have a private service.
A celebration of Primo’s life will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
