ATHOL- Priscilla R. (Jean) Bernier, 75, of Froman Street, died on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Heywood Hospital in Gardner.
Born in Winchendon on August 9, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Leopold and Beatrice (Stockwell) Jean and grew up in the Orange and Athol area and graduated from Athol High School in 1965 and lived most of her life n Athol.
On November 30, 1968, Priscilla married Richard “Dick” Bernier and they enjoyed over 52 years together until his death on August 25, 2021.
Priscilla had worked as a quality control manager for Nichols and Stone in Gardner, along with several other Gardner furniture manufacturers.
Priscilla love shopping with her special friends, taking day trips and visiting Florida yearly. She especially enjoyed caring for her husband and home, along with nurturing children that were in her life.
The family is forever grateful for the many acts of kindness and assistance by her neighbors.
Survivors include her brother, Roland Jean Sr. and his wife, Rita, of Wendell; sister, Linda O’Brien of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; step daughter, Sherry Peeler and her husband, John, of Athol; a step son, Richard Bernier Jr. of Orange; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; nieces, Madelyn Jean of Athol and Diane Williams of Worcester; and a nephew, Roland Jean Jr. of Gardner.
Besides her parents and husband, Priscilla was predeceased by a brother, Michael Jean, a nephew, Bernard “Bernie” Jean, and her brother in law, Thomas O’Brien.
A calling hour will be held on May 17, 2023 from 10-11 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on May 17th at Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange, with the Rev. Dr. David Massey officiating.
