Randy S. Shaw Sr.

ORANGE- Randy S. Shaw Sr., 53, of Bacon Street, died unexpectedly on Thursday evening, April 20, 2023 after being stricken ill at home.

Born in Athol on December 13, 1969, he was the son of John Shaw Sr. and Sandra (Noyes) Shaw and grew up in the Tully section of Orange and attended Orange schools.

Randy had worked for Nichols and Stone in Gardner in the packing department and had also worked for the former Athol Table Company.

Randy enjoyed doing models, collecting Hot Wheel cars, and could never resist a tag sale and loved the Rietta Flea Market in Hubbardston. He loved his kids and grandchildren immensely, especially singing with Dawn and Legacie. He had a great sense of humor as well as a knack at aggravating people, he quite often told the same story over and over. He also loved working on cars with his father and brothers, as well as visiting with his mother and enjoying her home cooking. Randy loved riding dirt bikes and four wheelers with his family as well.

Randy is survived by his parents, John and Sandy Shaw of Orange; his children, Randy Shaw Jr. and his fiancée, Tiffany Wallace, of Nashua, NH, Michael Nygard and his partner, Craig Decker, of Hubbardston, Dawn Shaw and her boyfriend, Randy Lefrancois (who was his life-long friend), of Orange, Dylan Shaw and his girlfriend Katelyn Beer, of Rutland, Ethan Shaw of Rutland, Shailee Dennis  and her boyfriend, Tyrese Williams, of Orange and Legacie Shaw and her boyfriend, Matthew Williams, of Orange; grandchildren, Skylar Wallace, Clyde Shaw and Carter Shaw; his first wife and friend, Amy Nygard-Shaw of Rutland; his second wife and girlfriend with whom he was living with, Cheri Dennis Shaw; and an ex girlfriend and mother of Randy Jr., Cathy Budry.

Randy also leaves behind his siblings, John Shaw Jr. of Orange, Lisa M. Shaw of Orange, Bryan Shaw and his wife, Laura, of Phillipston, Kimberly Shaw of Orange, and Christopher Shaw and his wife, Brooke, of Lunenburg; and many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held on May 6, 2023 from 4-6 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

Family and friends will share brief memories at 6 p.m. so please, come share memories as he made many over the years. He will never be forgotten.

A celebration of life will be held following at 6:30 p.m. at the Orange American Legion, 40 Daniel Shays Highway, Orange.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the funeral home to assist with the funeral expenses.
