Raymond E. Burnham

MOUNT AIRY, NC-  Raymond “Ray” E. Burnham, age 59, of Mt. Airy, NC passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2022. 

Ray was born in Baltimore, MD to H. Edward.  and Joyce (Abare) Burnham, both predeceased, and raised in Athol, MA from age 8.  He is a graduate of Athol High School where he played on the football team. His love for football continued throughout his life – he enjoyed going to games with his family and watching football on TV. He was a loyal Patriots fan. Ray also enjoyed golfing with his dad and friends and going to and watching Red Sox and Bruins games with his wife Diane.

Ray and Diane relocated to Mt. Airy, NC in 2015 where he worked as a Machinist at Nu-Tech.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years Diane Burnham, and his three children: his son Ross Burnham and his wife Lisa and their three children; his son Jordan Burnham and his two children; his daughter Alexa Burnham and her wife Molly and their two children; his two step-daughters: Sarah Stratos and her husband Andrew; Katie Houle and her fiancé Joshua and their two children and his sister Julia Rathburn, her husband David and their 6 children. 

Ray will be missed by friends and family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
